There are a large number of train agencies operating their own carriage on the SP Trains to Sapa such as Sapaly, Livitrans, Orient Express, Fanxipan Express, King Express, etc. Each of those agencies has their own assets and charges a different price. These trains are equipped with high quality wooden cabins and have better condition such as berths and snacks.
You can reserve your train ticket in advance, even prior to your entry into Vietnam. All you need is to make a booking request on our website. After just a few minutes of checking, we will provide you the train number, the car number, the cabin number, the seat number, or the berth number, by sending you the Booking Confirmation.
Once we receive your online payment, we will send you the Booking Confirmation and request for an address where the tickets will be delivered. It can be your hotel in Vietnam or at the train station or the most convenient place of agreement between you and us, on a case by case basis.
When we receive the information about your exact date of departure and the number of passengers, we will check whether or not train tickets are available and then provide you necessary information.
Usually, most trains will be available if you book at least 2 weeks in advance. You can go as far as 3 months ahead of the departure date to book your ticket. However, for public holidays such as Lunar New Year (early to mid February), or May Day (April 28th-May 2nd), tickets will be sold-out long before the due date. If you plan to travel on these dates, please reserve your ticket well in advance.
Hoi An does not have a train station and the closest one is Danang Train Station - about 30 minutes by bus or car to Hoi An. You can take an overnight train from either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Danang and then take a bus or taxi to Hoi An.
You can make payment for your train tickets with major credit cards such as Visa Card, Master Card, JCB. Transfer by Western Union is also available. Please contact us: email@example.com if you have any questions about the payment.
There is one day train from Hanoi to Sapa operating daily, called LC3. This train departs Hanoi at 6:10 AM and arrives in Lao Cai at 16:35 PM. The costs for a soft seat on this train is about $20 per ticket and soft berth around $35. It is totally fine that you travel on the day train. However, night train is much more comfortable as you have time to rest before getting to Lao Cai.
There are buses that you can take from Hanoi airport to Hanoi train station but that would involve changing at least 2 buses. With all the luggage to carry, it is not advisable to take bus. The easiest way is to take a taxi from the airport to the train station, which takes about 40 minutes and costs about $20.
After you make your payment, you will receive a Booking Confirmation to your email address for your reference. As it gets closer to your travel date, we will be contacting you for a delivery point.
We encourage you to provide us with a fixed address (your hotel address in Vietnam). We provide freedelivery service to all addresses in Vietnam. In case that you do not have a hotel address in Vietnam, we will arrange to deliver the ticket to any places most convenient for you to pick up or meet you at the train station (Hanoi: near by Hanoi Train Station or Ho Chi Minh City: Ticket Counter No.1 at Saigon Train Station within 3 hours before departure time only) or any convenient place at the meantime.
